A
very warm welcome to Grainville School.
We
are very proud of our school community and the
achievements of our students and staff. We hope
that you find our website useful and informative.
At Grainville we set high expectations in all
that we do, to provide students with a learning
experience that best meets their individual
hopes and aspirations. In our caring school
community students are inspired, motivated and
challenged to fulfil their potential, always
striving to achieve their very best. ' We provide
a safe, secure and happy environment where everyone
can learn and develop their skills necessary
for life in the 21st Century. Grainville is
renowned for its supportive and positive ethos.
All staff are committed to our core purpose
'To be Learning and to be Safe' and our aims
and goals are all centred on this.
We
welcome to our school our new Year 7. We wish
all our students every success in 2009-10 and
look forward to a new school year that is enjoyable,
fun and rewarding. Whilst looking forward to
the year ahead, we also take time out to reflect
upon the year that has just ended. We celebrate
outstanding performance in public examinations
and congratulate staff and students for all
the success achieved. At KS4 (Year 11) 73% of
students we met or surpassed their agreed targets.
Our success is a simple recipe of high expectations,
hard work and excellent teaching.
To
those Year 11 students that have just left Grainville
you take with you our very best wishes for the
future. Work hard, play safe, be happy and healthy
and be true to yourself. Do this and you will
be successful. Remember, If you can dream it
you can do it!

We
value and recognise the importance of partnership
with the family and local community and proudly
hold the first ever Leading Parent Partnership
Award (LPPA) in the Channel Islands. Our relationship
with parents and carers of our students is paramount
in supporting their development, achievement
and success in school. Parents and carers want
to become more involved in their child's learning.
Grainville has a thriving and energetic 'Grainville
School Association' which is our parent-staff
group who work tirelessly to raise funds which
will benefit the school and ultimately our students.
Grainville
School is a thriving 11-16 inclusive secondary
school in the central part of the beautiful
Jersey. During recent years Grainville has gone
through an extensive building programme. Our
new school facilities are therefore spacious
and modern, equipped with the latest technology
to enhance learning. Students at Key Stage 3
follow a broad and balanced curriculum. At Key
Stage 4 we offer a wide range of subjects and
options blending traditional GCSE and BTEC vocational
courses.
