Excitement was in the air on Friday 9th December, as Year 7 took part in the finals of The 2022 Persuasive Speech Competition. Heats were underway all week and one lucky winner was selected from each English class to compete in the finals. Students used a variety of persuasive writing techniques to convince the panel of judges on ‘How to Make the World a Better Place.’ Mrs Polglase, Deputy Head and English specialist, as well as Miss Kemp, Head of English, made up two thirds of the judges for the event. Grainville were also thrilled to welcome Mrs Maria Galli, Advocate for the Children’s Commissioners, as our third, guest judge. It was an incredibly talented final, giving judges a very tough decision. Thank you to our judges and congratulations to all involved!
