What a fantastic week it has been for Year 7 Grainville at the 2022 Eisteddfod competition. Pupils have participated in this great opportunity at Jersey Arts Centre, and what an experience it has been! So much positive feedback from the judges, teachers and pupils themselves.

Drama Club started the week by winning the award in the Devised category. Y Band continued this success on Tuesday, bringing home the Carlton Shield for Poetry linked by a theme. Finally, on Thursday it was the turn of X Band, who were just as victorious, winning the Marjorie Main Cup for poetry of a contrasting theme.

To top it all off, Drama Club went on to perform in the Gala Night on Saturday. A huge honour in itself, made even greater by being awarded the John Grimshaw Award for Group Drama – awarded to the adjudicator’s top drama group, of any age, from throughout the whole festival!

An outstanding effort from all involved. Bring on next year!
