
Aimie Tonsberg is an accomplished Human Resources Director with extensive experience leading strategic people initiatives that support organisational growth and culture. Known for her collaborative approach and strong business partnership skills, Aimie specialises in talent management, organisational development and building high‑performing teams. She is passionate about creating inclusive, engaging workplaces where people can thrive and deliver their best work. With a proven track record in HR operations Aimie brings a balanced focus on both people and performance to every organisation she supports.
Aimie joined Jersey Post Group following an 18‑year career with the Government of Jersey, where she most recently served in the Cabinet Office managing a portfolio of change and improvement projects commissioned by the Chief Minister and Chief Executive. With a professional grounding in Public Health, she brings a critical thinking approach to complex issues and consistently delivers results through collaboration and strong partnership working.
Throughout her career, she has led and developed high‑performing teams across a diverse range of Government departments, including Education, Customer & Local Services, and Public Health. She previously headed the Government’s Corporate Learning and Skills Team—supporting a workforce of 9,000—and introduced the Island’s first foundation‑level safeguarding training for children and adults at risk. In 2020, Aimie was seconded to the States of Jersey Police as Learning and Development Manager, where she oversaw the onboarding and training of the highest-ever annual intake of new recruits, delivered during the constraints of lockdown.
Her leadership earned her a commendation in the Government of Jersey’s Manager of the Year Awards in 2022. Aimie also broadened her strategic and governance experience as a Non‑Executive Director Board Apprentice through the Jersey Post International Board Apprentice Programme in 2023.
