
Success for Grainville at the Rotary Club Young Chef Local Final 2026. Four students entered the competition at Highlands College. The standard was incredibly high with just a few points separating the top contenders. Eden Y10, won the award for ‘Best Genuine Jersey Menu’, with pan fried Sea Bass on crushed and roasted Jersey Royals accompanied with a Mediterranean medley of vegetables and broccoli followed by a Lemon Posset and Viennese biscuit dessert. Bea Y9, impressed judges with her Salted Caramel Apple Rose Tart served with Salted Caramel Sauce and a mascarpone cream topped with toasted almonds and blackberries, winning ‘Best Dessert’.
Judges complimented students on how they conducted themselves; commenting on the superb standard of the dishes made and how calm everyone was under pressure in the kitchen. A terrific experience for our students who are an absolute credit to the school and an inspiration to all our upcoming budding chefs. Well Done.
