Our school celebrated Science Week 2025 with a variety of exciting activities.
Each year group participated in practical in-class competitions, exploring hands-on experiments and challenges to test their skills and knowledge in a fun and competitive environment.
Throughout the week, lunchtimes were dedicated to separate activities for all year groups, including flame tests, methane bubbles, the Van de Graaff generator, the iodine clock experiment, and heart and lung dissections. These activities provided students with the opportunity to get up close and personal with scientific concepts, sparking curiosity and encouraging exploration. In addition to the lunchtime events, Years 7 to 9 participated in a “Design a Lab Coat” competition during tutor time.
Students expressed their creativity by designing their own unique lab coats, showcasing their personal style while incorporating the scientific theme of robotics set by Bayer pharmaceuticals. The week was a fantastic celebration of science, offering both interactive and educational experiences for all students, sparking interest and enthusiasm for science across the school.
