A. Martinez is a Y11 prefect. Her team at the LEAP entrepreneurs over the summer was a standout group and they received more than their requested funding to get their project off the ground.
Their idea was to set up a summer school where teenager girls could teach year 4 students to prevent brain drain over the holidays in maths and English. Schools would be here in Jersey and in Portland, Oregon. The project is called G.L.O.W. International and the goal is to promote female leadership in school via teaching experiences. This project allows the “teachers” to put this on their CV and promote themselves and also allows the teenagers to explore different career paths. The intention is for this to be an international project as they are hoping to expand it further.
What a fantastic achievement, competing against groups from all over the world!
