Grainville school is pleased to announce that it has once again been successful in obtaining the nationally approved Quality in Careers Standard award “Careers Mark,” which ensures our students develop employability skills for a successful working life in the 21st century.
As the only school on the Island to achieve this National award for the third time we are proud of the service our Careers Department in conjunction with Skills jersey provides for our students.
The report states that “it is very clear that the service provided by the Careers Leader is highly valued by the learners, particularly those in Year 11.”
The report goes on to state that, “The School feels like a community where the students are happy, confident and feel well supported. Grainville School has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to ensuring that learners benefit from good quality CEIAG provision which helps them to make well informed realistic decisions and equips them with the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to make successful transitions.”
The strength of Careers programme was highlighted by the assessor when identifying “The strengths of the CEIAG provision lie within the Careers Leader’s experience and enthusiasm and the partnership he has built with Skills Jersey.”
Additionally, the assessor was particularly impressed with the range of career resources that students, parents/carers and other stakeholders can access via the dedicated Careers section of the school website. The Careers Leader has worked hard to create a high quality resource by carefully selecting a wide range of videos, weblinks, downloadable resources and an informative presentations using Microsoft Sway.
We are very proud to once again retain this award and look forward to continuing to develop our already successful Careers Programme.
