Grainville’s Design and Technology department are pleased to announce that 40 of our Year 9 students have successfully completed their Home for Everyone projects and as a result, they are to receive the DEC Connect Award.
Last week, these students were given the opportunity to showcase their work in an exhibition that was attended by staff, parents, and key individuals from Property – Infrastructure and Environment (IE). Julie Shingles from IE said “ it has been excellent to work with Grainville in their first year of teaching DEC. This is an amazing programme that gives Year 9 students a taste of life as a design, engineer and construction professional in the Digital Built Environment. We were so impressed with the quality of the projects produced and are very much looking forward to working with the School to assist in the delivery of the Level 2 DEC course next year.”
Design and Technology teacher, Neil Selby said, “This is our first time teaching DEC and we are delighted to have so many students who will picking up the DEC Connect Award certificate in the summer. The standard of work produced by some of our students has really exceeded all expectations and we’re incredibly proud of everyone whose work was selected for the exhibition. Our thanks go to Julie Shingles and the Property team at IE for their expertise and guidance that they have provided our students along the way.”
