Grainville School is pleased to announce agreement to appoint two Pastoral Leaders (Grade 9) to replace Heads of Year in Years 8-11. Unlike Heads of Year who teach for the majority of their day, the two Pastoral Leaders (KS3 for Y8 & Y7 and KS4 for Y10 & Y11) will not be teaching staff. This will allow students, parents and staff to access Pastoral Leaders throughout the school day and improve current arrangements when meetings or phone calls with Heads of Year can only happen around their teaching commitments or after school. This is not always convenient or timely.
Pastoral Leaders will be responsible for the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the pastoral team ensuring that they work effectively to achieve, if not surpass, the school’s annual targets, securing positive behaviour, high achievement and progress outcomes for all students.
These are new leadership roles, within a new leadership structure, focused on making a significant difference to the lives of children. Grainville is a highly successful forward thinking school. We are looking for individuals who will support and challenge students to be the best that they can be, ensuring they have a voice and enjoy learning. We are looking for two individuals with drive, ambition and vision to come and work in our dynamic award winning school. Adverts for the post including job descriptions will be found on gov.je and on our school website- vacancies very soon. Closing date 21st July (2.00 p.m.)
