We are thrilled to announce that last night, Granville School won the Active School Award at the inaugural Race Nation Jersey Sport and Active Living Awards held at the Royal Yacht Hotel.
The award recognises the outstanding work of the PE Department in supporting students and offering numerous opportunities for students to develop their physical literacy. The benefits of physical activity are widely known and it is also shown to have a positive impact in the classroom with students showing an improvement in learning readiness and concentration, which leads to better attainment. Improving students’ physical literacy also helps to develop camaraderie with each other, teaches them key life skills and can have a positive impact on mental health.
Congratulations to the PE Department.
Well done to all of the nominees in the category.
Thank you to the school staff, students, parents and the wider community that continue to support us – a fantastic achievement.
