Student Transport

We actively encourage students to become independent citizens and safely use their bicycles/motorbikes/mopeds to get to and from school thus reducing cars on the roads around school. Grainville offers students a safe and secure bike / motorbike compound which is locked at 9.00 am by site staff and reopened at 3.00 pm.

Bicycles: For students that cycle to school we expect bicycles to be well maintained including working brakes. Students should observe the Highway Code and always ride wearing a cycle helmet.

Motorbikes: For students in Year 11 that wish to bring their motorbike/moped to school they must apply for a school permit to bring their motor vehicle onsite. Students must meet with the site manager with the following documents:

• Driver’s licence (provisional)
• Certificate of Motor Vehicle Insurance and the
• Completed permit application form
