Sunday 4th December 2011
Grainville had its first taste of the Christmas spirit at the 2nd annual Cluster Carol Service attended by 120 children aged between 6 - 16 and a hall full of expectant friends and family. We were not disappointed; it was an evening to remember! Pupils from 7 primary schools performed solo carols and joined forces with the Grainville student and staff choir to sing collaboratively a number of well-known carols, along with nativity readings, poems and a drama performance. The community based evening was both inspiring and uplifting. It was sad the evening had to come to an end, the audience uttering ‘ah’ after the final Carol. We will have to wait another year to 2012. Our sincere thanks and appreciation must go to Mr Goffee-White, Head of Music at Grainville for coordinating this musical masterpiece; the sum of many parts being enjoyed by all. Primary schools taking part included Springfield, St John’s, St Saviours, St Martin, Trinity, Grand Vaux and FCJ.
