Subject: Religious Education |
| Autumn |
During this term students will reflect on the Eastern religion of Hinduism, considering the concepts of Brahman, Moksha and Karma. Students will also re-enact a Hindu puja (worship). The main assessment task (s) will be to design a Hindu snakes & ladders game of life, & a model shrine. |
| Spring |
During this term students will be looking at Buddhism & impermanence. Around Easter the concept of relics and miracles will be studied using the Turin Shroud as possible evidence of the divine. The main assessment task(s) will look at producing a group monster of impermanence. Individuals will also attempt to forge their own ‘shroud’ images. |
| Summer |
During this term students will study introduced to the GCSE Philosophy & Ethics course by following a module on religion & the environment. A deeper examination of the variations within the Christian religion will also be followed. The main assessment task(s) will be either a personal ethical study or a study of a denomination. |
