Year 9

Subject: Art
 Autumn During this term students will study Aboriginal Art
Learning aim and context:
  • Introduce concept of producing a piece of GCSE coursework. What, how and why?
  • Collect and explore examples of different lettering styles.
  • Investigate how Pop Art and Graffiti Art incorporates text by looking at the work of Banksy and Basquiet
  • Collect and use examples of wrappers and labels to produce an example of Pop Art.
The main assessment task(s) will look at:
  • Develop a final piece that best communicates the understanding of the knowledge and techniques that have been studied.

This unit is designed to identify the gifted and talented students who may wish to be entered for a GCSE in Art during Year 9.
