Subject: Art

 Autumn

During this term students will study Aboriginal Art
Learning aim and context:

  • The use and creation of repeat patterns in Aboriginal Art. What are a Kowhaiwhai and a Koru? Introduce oil pastel and techniques.
  • What is a symbol and how are they used to communicate ideas in Aboriginal Art?

The main assessment task(s) will look at:

  • Tell the story of your summer holiday using symbols and wax resist techniques.
  • Introduce Scaffito techniques. Create an animal using only patterns and scaffito.

This module will also incorporate designing and creating a set for the up coming Year 8 performance.

 Spring
