Year 11

Subject: Photography

 Autumn 

During this term students will be expected to ‘drive’ their development forward into the free thinking, professional and focused Artists we have been training them to be.

Learning aim and context:

  • To enhance understanding of key concepts taught in Year 10.
  • To produce a unit of coursework by half term that reflects their knowledge and potential as Artists.
  • To experience process of sitting a full 10 hr GCSE Art exam. Outcome of this exam will go towards final grade.

The main assessment task(s) will look at:

  • To develop 2 units of coursework that will reflect the knowledge and understanding of the student’s chosen specialism.
 Spring

During this term students will be expected to continue to ‘drive’ their development forward into the free thinking, professional and focused Artists we have been training them to be.

Learning aim and context:

  • Students will be given the opportunity to reflect and refine on the previous terms work with the aid of a formal discussion with the Art Department Teaching staff. Students will be given challenging but realistic targets for attainment.
  • The GCSE Art exams are scheduled to take place at the end of this term and are worth 40% of the final mark.
 Summer ALL WORK IS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR ASSESSMENT BY THE END OF APRIL. THIS MARKS THE CONCLUSION OF THE GCSE ART COURSES.
