PSE

Year 10

Subject: PSE

 Autumn  

During this term the focus will be the ‘Importance of the next 2 years’. This will include visiting speakers from Careers Jersey and Trident – re work experience. Pupils will access and complete the Career Computer Programmes to make an informed selection of 8 jobs and complete the form appropriately.
The PSE curriculum is also supported through the tutorial programme and the Challenge Days.
The main assessment task will be the submission of their Trident application form.

 Spring

During this term students will study Citizenship, with particular reference to rights & responsibilities, knowledge of Jersey and its constitution, how the Parishes and the States are run. Pupils will appreciate what is required to be an active and confident member of society, not only in Jersey, but in the wider context.
The PSE curriculum is also supported through the tutorial programme and the Challenge Days.
The main assessment tasks will be related to a topical youth event at the time, as well as participation in the Scrutiny Visit by States Members.

 Summer

During this term students will prepare for their work experience. This will include completion of CV’s for their ROA ready for their interviews, preparation for and organising of interviews. Health and Safety in the workplace awareness and general preparation for their 3 weeks experience.
The PSE curriculum is also supported through the tutorial programme and the Challenge Days.
The main assessment task will be completion of a successful Trident work experience.
