Revision Strategies

Here is a simple list to help with revision for your exams.

  1. Summarise each topic as a spider diagram – perhaps with one topic to each side or piece of paper.
  2. Try to link ideas together.
  3. Try to concentrate on the topics you find difficult.
  4. After a period of revision try to explain to someone else what you have learnt.
  5. Test yourself by writing out spider diagrams from memory.
  6. Get hold of past exam papers and questions to practice your exam technique.
  7. Each week discuss how revision is going with a friend.

Don't worry – most students say they haven’t done any revision even when they have. This is so that if they fail, they can use this as an excuse!
