Jeannie Moiani

Staff Governor

Jeannie Moiani is from Skipton in North Yorkshire and started her teaching career as a teacher of Home Economics, Textiles and Child Development at St Helier Girls’ School in 1975 (which later became Grainville as a co-ed school). She became Head of Department in 1982 before changing direction into pastoral roles as Head of Year, Head of Transition and Behaviour Support. In September 2000 she was appointed as an Assistant Headteacher as Director for Student Support. She has completed additional training in Behaviour Management, Child Protection and Special Educational Needs. She initially introduced Solution Oriented Brief Therapy into the school, has tutored and mentored teaching assistants in other schools taking the Birmingham University Behaviour Management and given presentations to Graduate Teacher trainees on behaviour management strategies. She was responsible for introducing and driving forward the Parent Partnership Award in 2009. In 2009 she was appointed as Deputy Headteacher before making a conscious decision to reduce her working hours after 35 of service to the school. She is currently the school’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
