Mission Statement

‘In this caring school community, students are inspired, motivated and challenged to fulfil their potential, always striving to achieve their very best. We provide a safe, secure and happy environment where everyone can learn and develop their skills necessary for life in the 21st Century.’

The Aims of our school are to:-

  • provide within a stimulating environment a broad and balanced curriculum which will develop the full potential of every student.
  • ensure that students should take increasing responsibility for their own learning.
  • expect that students should be tolerant and understanding of those around them.
  • ensure that students should have equality of opportunity.

Grainville is a small community school serving approximately 600 students aged 11-16 with 70 staff. We are a comprehensive school and very proud of our traditions and learning community. Our school has seen extensive modernisation in recent years with a final phase planned in 2011. These developments have helped to create state of the art facilities offering students and staff the best opportunities to be successful. We enjoy positive partnerships with parents, local community groups and our feeder primary schools. We aim to build upon this and create new opportunities through the Leading Parent Partnership Programme to involve more families in the learning journey. By getting parents involved we believe that the combined commitment of home, school and community will strengthen our core purpose and better support us to achieve our Aims and ensure that all students are successful.
