We value the views of parents, students and members of our local community. To reflect the importance of the feedback so that we constantly evaluate and improve to publish summary feedback for your information.

We have recently surveyed all parents using the Kirkland Rowell Attitudinal Survey. We received 158 replies, approximately 27% of parents. The summary reports have just arrived in school and will be discussed and scrutinised before a more detailed summary is shared with parents and school governors early next term.
Headlines from the parental attitudinal survey in May 2010 are as follows:
‘’The survey produced and acceptable overall response from parents, who gave a good performance scores for most of the academic subjects and the chosen performance criteria..... Parents gave a satisfactory overall performance (69%), while among the parents whose children were not in their first year at the school, 44% said the school had improved over the last year while 5% thought the school’s performance was worse....The school results reveal that the school has reason to be happy with most of its activities...’
Homework, control of bullying and discipline were all noted as common areas for improvement when compared with national benchmarks of over 1300 schools.
The summary report will assist us to make plans to better target and improve how we communicate with parents, students, staff and outside agencies. We very much welcome parents’ views and we will extend the survey next year to include the attitudes of staff and students to school too as well as parents once more.
